DIY Floater Frames Tutorial

Sometimes all you want to complete a piece of artwork or print, either made yourself or purchased, is a nice clean and simple looking frame. Floater frames are a great way to do this but they can be quite pricey when purchased in-store. In this post I will show you have to make your own slim-style floater frames for a lot less. Once you see how simple it is, you'll want to make frames for all your pictures! Let's take a look...

To make these DIY Floater Frames there are a few things you're going to need. Some things you may already have around your house or garage/workshop, but I've laid everything out in the supply list below, along with a few links that may be helpful.

- Wood Glue
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scrap Paper or Double Sided Tape
- Deck of Cards
- Soft Drop Cloth

OTHER TOOLS

- Mitre Saw

- Drill & Drilling Bits

- Screwdriver (shape and size to fit screws)

There you have it - that's onc way to DIY floater frames. There is another way I may show you in a future tutorial, which allows for a bolder (wider) frame, and the ability to adjust the gap around the artwork to whatever you like. For now, have fun framing EVERYTHING!
