Straw Ball Tree Ornament Tutorial & Christmas Tree

Yooooo! S’up peeps? :D  Well, I’m back again with another Christmas post for y’all! I’ve got a great ornament tutorial for you aanndd some photos of my Christmas tree! But let’s get to the tutorial first! I wanted to show you guys how to make these really pretty Straw Ball Ornaments.

I’m sure you can see in the photo, but these are made from using those decorative straw balls that a lot of us have as décor in our homes, along with some faux berries, branches, and some shiny ribbon. The supplies for this project cost me only about $10…maybe $11…$12 at the most. He he.

If you’re going to re-purpose some of the straw balls that you may have hanging around your home, then this will cost you about half that since you’ll only have to buy the ribbon and the faux berries, etc. I did have some of these balls… but I wasn’t willing to take them out of use as décor so I went to IKEA to get more. I paid $5.99 for a small bag of mixed balls. Then I got a few different kinds of faux berries and branches and the ribbon from the dollar store that cost me $1 each.

I did most of mine keeping to a gold and neutral color scheme but I had some other faux berries left over from my Pine Cone Wreath tutorial, so I decided to try a little pop of color and those looked great too!

Alright, enough jibber jabber (or whatever the typing equivalent would be)! Here is the video so you can see how I did it and make your own! They’re so pretty!

So, that’s pretty simple, right? And inexpensive and who doesn’t like that? Alright, so now, photos of my Christmas tree. I just have to mention; our Christmas tree is much larger than in previous years. I had a bit of a case of eyes being bigger than my belly…except replace “belly” with “livingroom”. I just love Christmas so much and was so excited and it didn’t look at big on the lot all bundled up and without the added height of the stand. But anyhow, it’s so much larger that I don’t have enough decorations to fill it nicely. I guess I’m going to have to make more. This tree needs larger sized ornaments! Ha ha!

I wish IKEA had more of those sparkly hearts, but they have different themes each year. :( Anyway, folks! That’s it for this post. Hope your trees turn out more beautiful than mine… although, this may not be the end of that story. It’ll bug me until I do something about it… until later..
